Gender Inequality Research Lab (GIRL) at Pitt Launches

November 8, 2017 - 4:30pm

The Gender Inequality Research Lab (GIRL) is a new interdisciplinary research forum for scholars and practitioners to collaborate on policy-relevant research on gender (in)equality. GIRL will bring together faculty, students, and staff who are interested in gender (in)equality around the world and will serve as an umbrella for related research at Pitt. GIRL is co-led by Associate Professor Melanie M. Hughes (Sociology) and Assistant Professor Müge Finkel (GSPIA). In its inaugural year, the Lab will partner with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to research gender inequality in public administration in conflict-affected countries. GIRL officially launches at 4:30pm on Wednesday, November 8.  For media coverage of GIRL in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, see http://www.post-gazette.com/news/education/2017/11/08/university-of-pittsburgh-Gender-Inequality-Research-Lab-workshop-collaborative/stories/201711080141
